Larkspur clinical therapy center opens in Lufkin

LUFKIN, ANGELINA COUNTY – Larkspur, a 120-bed transitional, short-term clinical care facility, recently opened on 5.07 acres off Loop 287 at 201 S. John Redditt Dr., near Woodland Heights Hospital.
The 90-unit, 60,764-sf clinical therapy center had construction costs of $7.3 million, according to state filings. It includes a dining room, commercial kitchen, activity and living areas, and a therapy gym. Construction began in January 2012.
The new Larkspur is replacing Stoneleigh Estates, Cantex’s 92-bed skilled nursing facility that has served the Lufkin area since 1978.
