Health clinic bound for southwest Oak Cliff

OAK CLIFF – West Dallas-based Los Barrios Unidos Community Clinic, 4732 W. Illinois Ave., is underway. The clinic will offer a variety of pediatric and adult health services and open in summer 2014.

The nonprofit was awarded a $5 million federal grant to establish what will be a more than 21,000-sf clinic on almost seven acres of land in a medically underserved area across from Mountain View College.

Initially, two doctors, a family nurse practitioner, registered nurse, behavioral care specialists and Women, Infants and Children program staff will provide services.

The new clinic is expected to serve 3,300 patients during its first year.
