El Paso signs going up at Fountains at Farah
EL PASO – PetSmart and Dick’s Sporting Goods are the first stores to hoist signs at The Fountains at Farah shopping center under construction in East El Paso.
The signs began going up on big-box buildings in the rear of the 600,000-sf center at I-10 and Hawkins.
PetSmart, the Phoenix-based retailer of pet products and services, plans to move its store in the Yarbrough Plaza Shopping Center at Yarbrough and I-10 to the Farah center. The Farah store is expected to open by early October.
PetSmart operates two other stores in El Paso.
Pittsburgh-based Dick’s Sporting Goods announced plans to open its first El Paso store in the Farah center.
A Twin Peaks Restaurant spokeswoman also confirmed that the Dallas area company plans to locate a restaurant in the Farah center. Twin Peaks is shooting for a late September opening.
Other retailers planning to begin business in the center are Nordstrom Rack, Jared The Galleria of Jewelry and Barnes & Noble. More than half of the Farah center has been leased.
Centergy Retail has launched a campaign asking El Pasoans to send the company ideas for stores and restaurants to go in the $70 million shopping center.
