AUSTIN – Luxury home sales in Austin are continuing to rise at a rapid pace, according to a recent Regent Property Group analysis. Sixty-five Austin luxury homes — those listed over $1 million — sold in April, compared to 37 in March, for an over 75 percent increase in closed properties.

In April 2013, the 65 luxury homes that sold had a high sold price of $5.86 million, an average sold price of $1.69 million, and a median sold price of $1.44 million.

Regent Property Group Founder Brian Talley explained that Austin’s luxury homes include most of the waterfront homes on Lake Austin and many homes within Eanes Independent School District, as well as some areas of central Austin.

As of May 23, 2013, 348 Austin luxury homes were for sale. The highest list price for these active homes was $14.5 million and about $1,797 per sf. The average listing was $2.37 million and the median luxury home was listed at $1.8 million.
