LONGVIEW – The 42,330-sf Kroger grocery store, which has operated at 701 W. Marshall Ave. since the 1970s, will get a $2.2 million makeover.

The renovations will include adding more seating for dining, installing a new deli/bakery area and putting in an expanded natural food section, according to Kroger spokesperson Gary Huddleston.

The expansion also will include updated entry decorations, including paint and signage, an expanded pharmacy with a patient counseling area, and an additional set of self-checkout devices.

Renovations are expected to be completed in August 2013.
