Denison airport receives funding for land purchase

DENISON – The Texas Transportation Commission approved an approximately $266,185 grant last month for North Texas Regional Airport-Perrin Field. The funds will be used to purchase land at the end of the airport’s runway.

Airport Director Mike Shahan said the 38.3 acres at the north end of the runway will serve as a runway protection zone.

The local portion of cost is 10 percent of the total.
