TYLER – Construction is set to begin in July 2013 on the city’s new $7 million, four-story downtown R.W. Fair Parking Garage, said Tyler City Manager Mark McDaniel.
The new garage will have 380 spaces, and motorists will enter and exit off South College Ave. The project will replace the public 132-space lot at Broadway Ave. and Elm St.
There will be an automated entrance to the garage, and a kiosk will be inside the garage to pay before leaving the facility, but the cost to park is still undetermined. However, the garage will provide free parking for evening events at the Caldwell auditorium.
