San Antonio No. 4 in Realtor.com top rental markets
SAN ANTONIO – The affordable lifestyle and impressive growth make San Antonio a hot market for not only homebuyers, but renters too, according to Realtor.com’s list of Top 10 Rental Markets.
The Alamo City took the No. 4 spot on the list. Historical landmarks like the Alamo attract millions of visitors every year. The River Walk — with its cluster of shops and restaurants and river barges — is representative of the city’s charm, states Realtor.com, which is the official website of the National Association of Realtors.
The site also points out that the Alamo City took the No. 4 spot on the U.S. Census Bureau’s list of the 15 fastest-growing large U.S. cities — adding 25,400 new residents over the 12 months ended July 1, 2012.
The median rental rate for San Antonio area homes, apartments or condos currently stands at $1,100.
Also making the site’s rent-friendly list were the Texas cities of Austin, ranked at No. 2; and Houston, which came in at No. 10.
The No. 1 town for renters? Sin city itself, Las Vegas.
