PLANO – About a month after relocating its North American headquarters to Plano, information technology services provider NTT Data has signed a five-year, $190 million deal with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The deal has two one-year options that could extend it to seven years.

The partnership should save TxDOT about $30 million a year, said spokesman Bob Kaufman.

NTT Data, which moved its main offices to Plano during the first week of May, will take over TxDOT information technology operations July 8.

NTT Data is offering positions to TxDOT’s current IT employees — about 300 — who work in Mesquite, Austin and Houston.
