LUBBOCK - Associated Supply Co. (ASCO), a Lubbock-based construction equipment supplier, went from West Texas to statewide in May 2013 with the acquisition of Houston-based Hi-Way Equipment Co.

In all, eight locations — Beaumont, Bryan, Brenham, Dallas-Fort Worth, Sherman, Tyler, and two in Houston — reopened under the ASCO brand. ASCO grew by 115 employees as a result of the acquisition.

Three locations in Alvin, Gainesville, and Longview are still under review.

Executives who have worked in the Lubbock headquarters are moving to Dallas and Houston to take charge of operations in those two regions, said W.B. “Brax” Wright, the company’s chief executive officer.

In West Texas, ASCO represents at least seven major construction equipment lines, while in Central Texas, the company’s main line is Case equipment.

J.W. Wright founded ASCO in 1960. Currently, his sons W.B and Steve head the company. Read more about ASCO's history and purpose.
