Houston Briar Club plans renovations

HOUSTON – The Briar Club, located at 2603 Timmons Ln., has announced a $22.5 million improvement project that will include a two-story, 42,000-sf clubhouse with 8,300 sf of event space, a four-story parking garage and a 10,000-sf ballroom with seating for 400.

Additional enhancements will include three tennis courts, a lap pool, a recreational pool and a new youth and teen center.

The project will be completed in three phases over a 30-month period.

Current club amenities include 26,000 sf of facilities for fitness and wellness, two swimming pools, seven tennis courts, youth programs and activities, and a chef.

Founded in 1949, The Briar Club is a private, member-owned social club with approximately 4,600 members from the Galleria and River Oaks areas.
