ABILENE - Of the 189 homes transacted in May 2013, 48 percent sold within 30 days of listing, according to the Abilene Association of Realtors. In addition, 25 percent of that number sold within 90 days.

Total sales for May 2013 were listed at $28,133,290, up from $26,407,479 in May 2012. Agents sold 15 more homes in May 2013 than they did in May 2012. The average price, $143,853, was down in May 2013 from $151,767 in May 2012.

“The median price, where 50 percent sold above or below, is up 11 percent from last year,” said Dave Dalzell, association president.

“We sold more of the middle income, middle-priced range, during the month of May that we had been earlier in the year,” Dalzell said. “Those homes between $120,000 and $180,000 were the dominant sales.”

As of June 2013, there are 640 active listings. In June 2012, there were a little over 800 available homes while June 2011 had about 1,000.
