AMARILLO – City commissioners have approved a $1 million grant to bring in a new AIG division which will result in 120 jobs. The grant will be used for new equipment and software for the facility, as well as training new employees.

The majority of jobs will be at the Western National Life offices on Osage St., and will include professional and management positions as well as customer service jobs.

The new positions will add nearly $5 million a year to the local economy, according to Brian Jennings, Vice President of business development at the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation.

Currently, the company employs 1,100 people in Amarillo. The company has expanded local operations eight times in the past 11 years.
