PORT ARTHUR – At the intersection of Ninth Ave. and Jimmy Johnson Blvd., a long vacant shopping center that was nearly destroyed by Hurricane Rita will be home to a Laundromat, a seafood restaurant, a convenience store and a nail shop. The center has space for 12-14 tenants.

First, Super Spin Coin Laundry will open in July 2013, said developer Charles Le; other Super Spin Coin Laundry’s are in Beaumont and Port Arthur. Also in July 2013, John’s Seafood will open its doors.

In August 2013, a convenience store is scheduled to open in the center. Currently, Le is in contract negotiations with a nail shop.

Also on Ninth Ave., a Donut Hole will open in August 2013, according to Patti Harrington with Coldwell Banker. The business also has locations in Groves and Orange.

At the intersection of Regional Dr. and Central Mall Dr., Bayou Café, located in the Canyon Square Retail Center, is expected to open in June 2013. The restaurant will employ about 40 people.
