DALLAS-FORT WORTH – Home foreclosures are down more than 40 percent this year in the DFW area.

For next month’s foreclosure auctions, 45 percent fewer homes are facing forced sales in the four-county area, according to the latest statistics from Foreclosure Listing Service Inc.

So far this year, home foreclosure filing totals in the DFW area are running almost 43 percent below where they were this time in 2012.

For July’s home foreclosure auctions, 2,360 residential properties in Dallas, Collin, Tarrant and Denton counties are posted for sale, according to Foreclosure Listing Service.

The biggest year-over-year declines in home foreclosure filings are in Collin County (-51 percent) and Dallas County (-45 percent).

So far in 2013, 17,446 home foreclosure postings have been recorded in the DFW area.
