AMARILLO - Coldwell Banker Commercial First Equity, Realtors conducted its annual survey of multiple-tenant retail properties 10,000 sf or larger. The survey was conducted during December 2012 and January 2013.

The overall retail occupancy rate in Amarillo increased slightly to 94 percent; up 1 percent in 2013. The total vacant square footage equals 292,670 sf at the beginning of 2013.

Based on the current activity level and limited amount of new space coming to the market in 2013, retail landlords should expect even tighter occupancies throughout 2013 and continued opportunities to increase rental rates as existing tenants renew leases and new players enter the market.
