Amarillo: $9.1M Hillside Heights nursing home set to open

AMARILLO - A new $9.1 million skilled nursing facility is set to open in July. The 58,000-sf Hillside Heights Rehabilitation Suites, 6650 S. Soncy Rd., replaces Canyon Healthcare in Canyon.

LTC Properties REIT of Westlake Village, Calif., built the facility. The REIT has leased Hillside to Fundamental LTC, a Maryland company that manages Canyon Healthcare and will operate the new 120-patient center.

Canyon residents will be relocated from the 90-bed center at 15 Hospital Dr. in Canyon. The Canyon operation, which has about 60 patients, will close as Hillside Heights opens.

Fundamental operates more than 40 health care properties in Texas, including Kirkland Court Health and Rehabilitation Center in Amarillo and Plainview Healthcare Center.
