HOUSTON - Multifamily development is known to follow the office sector, and west Houston is no exception. There has been a plethora of office construction in the west Houston area, and well-known multifamily developers have taken note and are moving fast to keep pace.

Alliance Residential Co. has started construction on two multifamily projects, both are being built in-house.

Broadstone 7 Seventy is on Eldridge Pkwy. near Memorial Dr. in the Energy Corridor. Further west, Alliance started construction in March on Broadstone Park West on Greenhouse Road just north of I-10, near where The Offices at Greenhouse are being built.

Allen Harrison Co. broke ground on Seventeen15Enclave — a 206-unit blend of new and remodeled units near Briar Forest and Eldridge. Allen Harrison is remodeling the existing 86 units in the Chalfonte complex, then adding 120 units to the property. The project will be completed this fall.

Also at Briar Forest and Eldridge, Trammell Crow Residential is developing the 354-unit Alexan Enclave.

Closer to Beltway 8, Finger Cos. has started construction on The Grove at Wilcrest, a 360-unit, four-story complex. The project is being built by Finger Construction Co.

Right inside the Beltway at CityCentre, Simmons Vedder Partners is developing the Icon at City Centre, a 152-unit project on the corner of Town and Country Blvd. and Queensbury Ln.
