To avoid traffic, 400,000-SF facility taken in Katy
KATY – Composites One, a distributor of composite materials, will relocate its Houston distribution center to Stonegate Business Park — just west of Katy city limits — by early fall.
Now located at Beltway 8 and Clay Rd., the new distribution center will continue to service the company’s customers from Austin to Mexico, said Ray Gulick, center manager.
"We chose the location because we ship to Austin, San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley — we [are moving] out there to avoid traffic, it is right off the interstate and it is a newer, upcoming area," he said.
The distribution center will open by October and will house the company’s 15 employees. As the company grows, Gulick said there will also be opportunities for job creation.
Composites One has more than 30 locations across the country and distributes reinforcements, resins, equipment and processing supplies to suppliers.
