OAK CLIFF - Columbia Packing Co., a meatpacking company, plans to reopen this month at East 11th St. after reaching an agreement with the City of Dallas.
The 100-year-old meatpacking company has been closed for more than a year after the city revoked the company's certificate of occupancy.
The Oak Cliff company plans to open its 40,000-sf plant for meat processing and packing operations for business by the end of July. Columbia Packing has begun to hire employees for the plant, with plans to attempt to rehire displaced workers.
