SAN ANTONIO - Koontz McCombs has plans for a luxury community near Trinity University. CityVista will have 141 units that range from 656 sf to 1,600 sf. Rents for one-, two- and three-bedroom units will range from $1,240 to $3,000 per month.

The property at 647 E. Hildebrand Ave. sits atop a hill that will give residents unobstructed views of the downtown skyline.

The five-story CityVista project will be constructed on a vacant triangular lot at Hildebrand and Devine Rd. — tucked between Trinity University and the University of the Incarnate Word.

Koontz McCombs officials would not divulge the cost of the planned development, but confirmed that it is over $20 million. A bank loan will be used to finance the project, says Bart Koontz, CEO of Koontz McCombs.

“CityVista will be a jewel-box development,” he adds.

Groundbreaking is scheduled for July, and construction is expected to be completed by December 2014.

Koontz McCombs acquired the real estate in 2007, but deed and zoning restrictions limited development opportunities for years.

Officials with Trinity and Koontz McCombs say infrastructure improvements along the east-west avenue would also inspire more change along Hildebrand.
