HomeAway to anchor one of Domain’s new buildings
AUSTIN – The Domain will grow by 362,000 sf over the next year as developer Endeavor Real Estate Group expands the North Austin development with two new office buildings — one that will be anchored by HomeAway Inc.
The Austin-based online marketplace for vacation rentals will take 115,000 sf in the five-story Domain 2 building, which HomeAway expects to move into in by September 2014. The 140,000-sf office building includes ground-floor retail space.
The second building that Endeavor is planning — the six-story, 222,000-sf Domain 7 — will break ground this fall and will open in late 2014.
Endeavor, San Francisco-based Shorenstein Properties LLC and Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management are developing the office properties for about $45 million.
Existing companies at the Domain include Blackbaud, Electronic Arts, Hanger Inc., the Texas Culinary Academy and KingsIsle Entertainment, a video game developer.
HomeAway employs more than 1,300 people worldwide, with 650 in Austin.
