RICHARDSON – A five-acre tract owned by the City of Richardson along Central Expressway is set to become a new dining destination in the southern part of the city.

A developer has purchased the property through an economic development agreement with the city and will be breaking ground on Restaurant Park, scheduled to open in mid-2016.

It will have up to seven restaurants with patio dining around a central plaza. Two restaurants — The Rock Wood Fired Kitchen and VertsKebap — have already been secured, according to Hermansen Land Development Inc.

Under the economic development agreement, Hermansen’s development corporation purchased the site for $2.2 million.
