Kairali Homes to Malayalees in Royse City
COLLIN COUNTY - Construction is underway on the first 38 houses in the 659-home, 432-acre Kairali Homes development located off FM 1777 near the northern edge of Royse City. Kairali Christian Adult Homes is owner and operator.
The project is described as an active adult community primarily for Keralites — residents of Kerala, a narrow strip on the southwest coast of India. Homes will range from 1,527 sf to 2,900 sf, according to KCA Homes LLC. Of the first 38 homes underway, 22 have been sold.
Once the project is completed, Kairali Homes’ features will include a clinic with a fulltime physician, nurse and ambulance service, a retail shopping center and a chapel with meeting facilities. Full-fledged assisted-living and nursing home facilities also are among future plans.
“Malayalees (natives of Kerala) in North America have just begun to reach retirement age. This retirees’ number is going to be multiplied by many times in a few years. We expect a very high demand for the houses in this project within the next few years,” according to Kairali’s website.
