New Class A units for Longview’s Judson Rd.

LONGVIEW - Site work has started on The Woods, a Class A apartment complex, at 2009 Judson Rd. Owners hope the first phase of The Woods is open by the end of the year.

The property will feature one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments from 800 to 1,500 sf. Rents will run in range of $1 per sf, according to one of the owners, Brad Tidwell.

Construction of the 100-unit complex will take place in two-phases, with the 46 apartments in Phase I expected to be ready by the end of the year. Tidwell said he expects construction on Phase II to begin soon after Phase I opens, with the second portion of construction including a pool.

“Basically, all the multifamily projects in Longview are staying in the 95 percent occupancy range,” Tidwell said. “When you’ve got that kind of occupancy and a lack of new Class A units, I feel like it it will fill up fast.”
