COLLEGE STATION - New apartment complexes, The Rise at Northgate and The Stack at Legacy Point, are finishing up construction in preparation for fall occupancy. Both are located right off University Dr. — The Rise pushing up to the street and The Stack adjacent along Church Ave.

The Rise is an 18-story, 400,000-sf mixed-use development. It will house 471 beds in 184 units. Construction value is $23 million, according to state filings.

The Stack has six floors, with 416 beds in 209 units. There are still some two-bedroom units available, but one-, three- and four-bedroom units have all been leased. Construction value is $25 million, according to state filings.

The two developments can house almost 900 students between them, and those students, their families and their possessions will be descending all at once. Move-in day for both apartments is Aug. 16 — ten days before school starts.

Both buildings have additional retail space. The Rise has 17,000 sf of retail space on the bottom floor of the development, and the city has permitted a 13,000-sf CVS to locate there. The Stack has 5,000 sf of retail space.
