DUMAS, MOORE COUNTY - The City of Dumas’ economy is doing well. That has caused a high demand for both residential and commercial real estate.
Deana Houlette of Houlette Real Estate says multiple businesses in the area are bringing in employees. "There’s business expanding. New businesses are coming in. There’s wind energy, dairies, meat packing. We’ve got Valero with lots of contractors out there and nowhere to put them."
Many contractors are arriving from other areas and may want to rent houses for a time.
To accommodate many new employees of the growing retail sector, new apartments are being built on the north side of town.
