EDINBURG – HOLT CAT Equipment and Engine dealer started construction on its new 38,000-sf building, which will be a state-of-the-art parts, rental and full-service center. The structure is valued at $7 million.

The new store location will be the anchor facility for the area and is expected to open in second quarter 2014. Currently, there are more than 70 HOLT employees in the region and once the store comes online, HOLT anticipates adding up to 25 high-paying jobs to the total Rio Grande Valley count.

“Today’s expansion of our operations in Hidalgo County we hope will help to facilitate growth in the community,” said Allyn Archer, HOLT CAT’s President and Chief Operating Officer. “With the future development of Interstate 69 and other planned construction, we look at these stores to be an investment for the next 30 to 40 years.”
