DALLAS - Kroger has purchased a new store location off Ross Ave. — just blocks from downtown Dallas’ Arts District.
The big supermarket chain’s planned store is the latest new grocery store in the works for the downtown and Uptown area.
Kroger purchased a block of land on Hall St. between Ross Ave. and North Central Expressway — when it will open or the size of the building has not been disclosed.
The property is visible from the expressway and is in the middle of a neighborhood seeing high-density apartment and residential construction.
Two other grocery chains are making a move in Uptown.
Tom Thumb has signed a lease for a 60,000-sf store on Field St. at Cedar Springs Rd. near Victory Park.
Whole Foods Market is building a store on McKinney Ave. in Uptown.
