DALLAS – Three old retail and commercial buildings — containing about 55,000 sf in downtown Dallas — are being redeveloped into 24 loft apartments. The buildings are located at 1512 through 1516 Elm St.

The project is a joint venture development by Scott Remphrey of Brytar Cos. and Kip Sowden with RREAF Holdings.

The developers plan to create apartments on the upper floors and retail on the street level. The building makeovers are scheduled for completion sometime next year.

Located between Akard and Ervay streets, the buildings were built in the early 20th century. Tim Headington has redeveloped several buildings a block away on Main Street, including the Joule Hotel.
