Forward Air Solutions needs employees at Port San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO – Tennessee-based logistics company Forward Air Solutions Inc. has leased an 89,600-sf distribution facility at Port San Antonio’s industrial airport, Kelly Field.

The facility at the redeveloped Air Force base is scheduled to open later this year with 60 to 80 workers — a combination of warehouse employees and truck owner-operators.

Forward Air specializes in pool distribution services, serving retailers in 35 states with a fleet of 800 owner-operated trucks.

Its Port San Antonio facility will be accessible by both truck and cargo aircraft.

“As our region continues to prosper, the port’s direct road, air and rail connections, along with our expertise in providing specialized buildings, are growing opportunities for logistics-based industries,” Port San Antonio President and CEO Bruce E. Miller said.
