Biggest Alamo Drafthouse opens in Austin

AUSTIN – The newest Alamo Theater in Austin is the largest of all the Alamo theaters anywhere. The Lakeline location in northwest Austin has 36,000 sf and ten screens. Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline is located in the Lakeline Market Shopping Center at 14028 N. US Hwy. 183.

The Alamo Drafthouse Lake Creek closed its doors after the evening round of films on Sunday, July 21 and the state-of-the-art Alamo Drafthouse Lakeline Theater opened on Monday, July 22nd.

New facility facts:

• new cinema seats for 944, including 38 seats for guests in wheel chairs
• largest auditorium seats 142
• two micro-theaters seat 34
• 255 employees total
• 188 employees transferred over from Alamo Lake Creek, with an additional 67 employees hired for the new, larger Alamo Lakeline.
