Who’s on first with HAS international flyers
HOUSTON – In the first half of 2013, the Houston Airport System (HAS) handled 25.09 million passengers, a 0.2 percent increase from 25.04 million the same period in 2012.
International traffic rose 1.0 percent from 4.41 million in the first six months of last year to 4.46 million in the first six months of this year.
Central/South America surpassed Mexico to become the number one destination region flown for HAS passengers, capturing 32.7 percent of the international market in the first half of 2013.
Canada experienced the fastest growth in passenger volume, with a 13.1 percent increase from 446,032 passengers 2012 YTD to 504,261 passengers 2013 YTD.
