HOUSTON – Spire Realty Group has sold two historic buildings, totaling 107,879 sf, in Houston’s Central Business District to Houston-based Braun Enterprises

The ten-story, 78,843-sf Great Jones Building is located at 708 Main St. It was built in 1908 and renovated in 2002, with additional upgrades as recently as 2012.

The building has been home to Texaco, and was also formerly known as the Bankers Mortgage Building. The corner of the building on Main St. and Capitol St. contains retail storefronts and is also on the Metro Light Rail line.

The three-story McCrory Building, located at 1004 Prairie St., contains 29,036 sf of office and retail space. It was built in 1912 and renovations were completed in 2000. When constructed, it was known as the Isis Theater, as it was a silent movie theater from 1913-1929.

“We plan to stabilize both assets through an aggressive leasing strategy and an extensive capital improvement program,” said Dan Braun, principal with Braun Enterprises.
