Air Evac Lifeteam takes off in Eastland
EASTLAND, EASTLAND COUNTY – The 92-acre Eastland Business Park, located along I-20, will break ground on its first phase in 2013.
The park’s first tenant, Air Evac Lifeteam, the largest independent air ambulance service in the U.S., is building a base at the site.
“Air Evac has already begun construction and plans to be fully operational within the month,” said Jerry Conner, executive director of Eastland Economic Development Inc. The $750,000 building will sit on 2.5 acres, and will create about 15 jobs with a nearly $1 million annual payroll.
The base will provide on-the-scene medical care and rapid medical transport, as well as transfers between medical facilities in the region. It will serve communities and hospitals within a 70-mile radius of Eastland.
The air ambulance service’s other bases are in Abilene, Brownwood, Mineral Wells and Granbury.
