Broken Spoke dances with 378 units

AUSTIN – South Austin residents who want to feel a part of Austin music history can now reserve an apartment at The 704, the $60 million mixed-use development that encircles the Broken Spoke dance hall in South Austin.

Preleasing has started, according to developer Transwestern, and the first residents can move in Oct. 1.

Rents begin at $959 a month for a one-bedroom, 408-sf unit. Two-bedroom and two-bath layouts range from $1,899 to $2,607 a month.

The development at 3503 S. Lamar Blvd. will include 20,000 sf of retail space, which is 62 percent leased.
