Firethorne heats up Katy, Fulshear housing market
KATY, FULSHEAR – The Firethorne master-planned community, located on FM 1463, has had 1,871 new home sales and 1,739 closings since its founding in 2005. Once completed, there will be 3,400 homes on 1,400 acres, with 150 acres for parks and recreational amenities.
The sale of 241 new homes puts Firethorne over the halfway point in development. New homes range in price from the high $100s to the mid-$800s.
The community is near the crossroads of the I-10 West corridor, the Westpark Tollway and the Grand Pkwy., within 15 miles west of the Texas Medical Center-West Campus and Houston’s Energy Corridor.
Amenities of Firethorne include:
- two lake features;
- greenbelts with hike and bike trails and parks;
- sports fields;
- a resort-style pool and swim center; and
- a Community Center with a fitness center and Clubhouse.
Firethorne is located in Katy Independent School District (Katy ISD) and Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. The community’s first school, Ray and Jamie Wolman Elementary, opened in 2012, within the Katy ISD.
