HOUSTON - Steel Supply LP has completed an expansion of its fabrication facility in southeast Houston at 10600 Telephone Rd., and plans to break ground in 2013 on another expansion at 14130 West Rd. in northwest Houston.

The southeast expansion doubled Steel Supply’s fabrication space to 16,000 sf, and cost an estimated $394,000, according to state filings. The same location also has two existing warehouses, a 60,000-sf warehouse and a 17,000-sf one.

Additionally, the company plans to break ground to add another 70,000 sf of space to its northwest facility, which is currently 45,000 sf. The expansion is scheduled for completion in second quarter 2014.

Along with the expansions, Steel Supply plans to increase its staff. The company expects to hire new employees by 2Q 2014, according to Marshall Hoffman, Steel Supply’s president. Currently, there are 81 employees.

The Houston-based company sells structural steel, pipe fittings and valves and offers some fabrication services, such as steel cuttings.
