FRISCO - The future home of the Cowboys, including its headquarters and practice facility, will occupy 25 acres at the northwest corner of Warren Pkwy. and the Dallas North Tollway, and will include a 12,000-seat indoor stadium and two outdoor fields.

The price tag for the city-owned facility is expected to be at least $115 million. The Cowboys have agreed to pick up costs above that amount. The facility is scheduled to break ground in the next year, and to be open by fall 2016. The relocation will bring about 200 corporate employees to Frisco.

As part of the 25-year deal, the Frisco ISD will also use the practice field for games and events in partnership with the Cowboys.

The project is a combined effort by the City of Frisco, which supplied $30 million, the Frisco Economic Development Corporation at $30 million, the Frisco Community Development Corporation, $25 million, and the Frisco ISD at $30 million.

The Cowboys will also hold their official preseason training camp there for at least one week per year. The city of Frisco will receive $100,000 from the Cowboys each year, and will share in the revenue from facility sponsor naming rights and parking fee revenues.

Development on an adjacent 66 acres of the 91-acre site will include 1.2 million sf of corporate office space, 400,000 sf of retail use, 51,000 sf of restaurant space, and a luxury hotel with about 480 rooms.

The economic impact of the project is expected to exceed $23 billion over the next 30 years, bringing 4,500 new jobs and $1.26 billion in new tax revenues.

The football club has been at Irving's Valley Ranch for nearly 30 years. That facility will likely return to the community.
