WACO, McGREGOR - MaxFlight will relocate to Waco and plans to hire 80 people over three years and invest $65 million in new Cessna Citation jets, repair parts and real estate as it expands its charter services and other aviation activities.

Max Flight Advantages LLC (MaxFlight) is moving its headquarters and major maintenance facilities from Dayton, Ohio.

MaxFlight will conduct its operations at Col. James T. Connally Aerospace Center at Texas State Technical College (TSTC) Airport with a 25,000-sf facility and at McGregor Executive Airport with the construction of two 25,000-sf facilities to begin within the next year and future expansion plans.

The company has signed a 30-year lease on a hangar at the TSTC airport, and will acquire 25 or more jets in the Cessna CitationJet/CJ series in the next five years, according to Jamie Thomas, MaxFlight founder.

The McGregor facilities will eventually become company headquarters.

TSTC will provide a steady flow of graduates who can fly, maintain and dispatch planes.

Besides offering charter service, MaxFlight brokers aircraft sales and manages fleets for private or corporate travel. The company is a concierge service for the aviation industry, helping fliers secure ground transportation and hotel and meal reservations.

Charter use is strongest in a geographical area that extends from the Southeast through Texas to southern California, and Waco lies near the center of that path, according to Thomas.

Regional partners include: Texas State Technical College-Waco, City of Waco, McLennan County, Greater Waco Chamber, City of McGregor, McGregor Economic Development Corporation and McGregor Chamber.
