BRYAN – Axis Pipe and Tube Inc. has broken ground on a new pipe and tube facility. The company will invest in excess of $150 million in the new state-of-the-art facility that sits on 183 acres.
The plant is expected to employ more than 285 people at full capacity and is scheduled to begin production by mid-2014. The facility will produce more than 300,000 tons of energy-related tubular products aimed at meeting the growing demand of the U.S. oil and natural gas industries per year.
The facility will operate as Axis Pipe and Tube Inc., a division of The Prolamsa Group.
