ELGIN - Austin Community College (ACC) has officially opened its new Elgin campus. This is ACC’s ninth location and the first campus in Bastrop County. The 65,000-sf building, valued at $28.3 million, can accommodate 1,500 students.
In addition to a full curriculum of core classes, the Elgin campus will be home to the Sustainable Agriculture Entrepreneurship Program. It also will offer veterinary technician classes in the near future.
ACC has room to expand, as it owns 98 acres at the site, near US 290 and County Line Road. ACC purchased the land for $3.4 million.
