KATY – Area expansion has been associated with the region south of I-10, but with the continuing development north and west of the Katy area, the region’s growth is becoming increasingly widely distributed.

Some planned communities include:

  • Katy Oaks, a 171-home development, broke ground in May 2013 on 58 acres near the intersection of Morton Ranch Rd. and Porter Rd.
     
  • Cane Island, a 1,000-acre community, is planned to have 2,000 homes on the Waller side of Harris/Waller County.
