WACO – Germany-based Vossloh AG will open a production plant for Vossloh rail fastening systems in the USA. The company will set up operations in Waco in an existing 100,000-sf facility adjacent to the TRANE facility on Hwy. 84.

Construction will start in third quarter 2013, with production scheduled to begin after mid-2014. There will be 50 new jobs at the plant in Waco.

Hiring is currently underway with 90 percent expected to be in place by the end of 2014. The company is currently working with Workforce Solutions in the Heart of Texas for personnel recruiting.

"Vossloh has chosen to set up operations in Waco, Texas. The decision was based mainly on the proximity to regions with current clients, as well as, a unique tax situation at this specific site," said Frank Sbielut, manager business development.

The worldwide company focuses on heavy-haul, transit and high-speed rail in rail infrastructure and rail technology markets.
