PLANO – USAA is expanding its information technology operations into the former AT&T campus in West Plano’s Legacy business park. The expansion will create more than 680 jobs and more than $31 million in capital investment.

The new jobs will be phased in through 2018. Earlier this year, USAA purchased the 255,000-sf AT&T campus located at 5601 Legacy Dr. and 7300 Parkwood Blvd.

San Antonio-based USAA provides banking, insurance, investment and retirement products and services to more than 9.8 million current and former members of the U.S. military and their families.

USAA focuses almost entirely on its online presence rather than brick and mortar locations so IT is critical to the company, said Mike Pansini, vice president of information technology.

The state of Texas will provide $5 million through the Texas Enterprise Fund to close the deal.
