IRVING – The Point at Las Colinas has been purchased by Fortis Property Group. The 18-story, 403,129-sf Class A office tower is located at 300 E. John Carpenter Fwy.

The high-rise, built in 1983, was sold by Global Investors. The Point is currently 98 percent leased with notable tenants, including Lehigh Hanson, GE Capital and I-Hotels.

Fortis already has a major stake in Las Colinas, owning more than 900,000 sf of office space. It also owns the 526,000-sf NEC America Corporate Center located at the intersection of SH 114 and SH 161.

The investor is changing the name of the two-building NEC complex to The Apex at Las Colinas Crossing. NEC America’s full lease of the properties will expire in 2016, and parts of the project are already vacant.

Las Colinas is home to approximately 2,000 companies including 30 Fortune 500 firms. It has an employee base of over 103,000 people.
