Buc-ee’s beaver nuggets to Terrell
TERRELL – Buc-ee’s Travel Plaza has opened in Terrell southeast of downtown Dallas. This is the first to open in North Texas and with the grand opening beaver style it could spur future projects.
The 62,000-sf travel center is the first and largest retail store to open at Terrell Market Center, which sits on FM 148 and I-20.
Buc-ee’s will open to beaver friendly customers with snacks, beef jerky, homemade fudge, beverages and their No. one branded product — caramel and butter-glazed corn puffs known as "Beaver Nuggets." The travel center also has 84 gas pumps.
Along with Buc-ee’s, the multimillion-dollar development is expected to include a Baylor Scott & White medical facility — scheduled to be complete in late 2016 — restaurants, retailers, apartments and a hotel.
The initial $65 million, 60-acre phase of the project is expected to total 275,000 sf of retail space, with Starbucks, Dairy Queen and Whataburger already committed to the property.
