THE WOODLANDS – Layne Christensen Co. has moved its 210 employees from its former headquarters in Mission Woods, Kan., to One Hughes Landing, where it will occupy about 51,000 sf.

The building will be a part of Hughes Landing, a 66-acre, mixed-use development that will feature a specialty grocer, hotel, fitness center and up to 800 multifamily residences.

Layne is a water management, construction and drilling company that serves government agencies, investor-owned water utilities, heavy civil construction contractors, oil and gas companies and agribusiness.

The state provided $1.3 million from the Texas Enterprise Fund for the move, which is expected to create $6.7 million in capital investment.
