HOUSTON - McCord Development Inc. is set to build a mixed-use project within its booming Generation Park business park.

The 4,000-acre Generation Park is on the northeast corner of Beltway 8 in the Lake Houston area and is the site where Houston-based FMC Technologies Inc. purchased 173 acres in January 2013.

McCord envisions the mixed-use development to be widely visited not just by people who office there, but also drivers who pass by on Beltway 8.

The mixed-use development, currently called S.PA, will include restaurants and retail as well as amenities like a fitness facility, child care, car center, full service-hotel and an auditorium.

Although pre-construction on the infrastructure for the entire acreage is underway, cranes will start moving within six to 12 months.
