WICHITA FALLS – Existing home sales continue to outpace 2012 figures. Through August, existing home sales total 1,027, an increase of 104 from 923 this time last year, according to a monthly report from the Wichita Falls Association of Realtors.

In August, 149 homes were purchased, compared to 150 in July. There was a 21 percent increase in August 2012 with 123 homes sold.

The sales volume in August was $18,685,889, up $115,157 from $18,570,732 in July. In August, the dollar valued increased 33 percent from $14,002,825 in August 2012.

The sales volume through the first eight months totals $123,686,983, a jump of $15,322,964 from $108,364,019 in 2012.

The market continues to show some steady growth, and year-over-year numbers show an 11 percent increase in units and a 14 percent increase in volume.

The August average sales price was $125,409. The average number of days on the market was 78; and there were 830 total active residential listings, along with 181 pending sales.
